COOMBES FARM

THE PROPOSALS

Mulberry is hoping to submit a planning application for 240 new homes and a care home on the Land South of Coombes Farm.

50% of the new homes would be affordable to help meet Rochford’s housing demand.

As well as providing much-needed new homes, the plans will include a large proportion of newly accessible public open space and new pedestrian and cycling links to Stambridge Road.

The proposals include:

  • Up to 240 homes with 50% affordable
  • A care home to meet growing need for older people’s accommodation
  • Newly accessible public open space with community gardens
  • Homes sensitively designed around the existing landscape
  • New pedestrian and cycle links to Stambridge Road
  • Financial contributions towards improvements in the local area

We believe the Land South of Coombes Farm offers the opportunity to provide new homes in a highly sustainable and logical location at the edge of an existing settlement. The designs will carefully consider the surrounding context in terms of height, land use and density, to ensure they fit in with the existing community.
